The
reception began around 4:00pm located on
a terraced lawn area above the ceremony site.
A tropical paradise was created for Lisa and Christopher.
There were colorful paper lanterns strung along
the outside parameter of the tent and potted palm
trees with twinkle lights. All the tables had
tropical flower arrangements on them with four
hurricane style candles with shells and sand in
them. Lisa collected small pieces of driftwood
from the beach earlier that week to use as seating
cards. She wrote guests names and table numbers
on them, which made great souvenirs for the guests.
All the women receive colorful and elegant rice
paper umbrellas as favors to remember the beautiful
occasion.
The wedding ceremony was blessed
with sunshine and shortly after the bride and
groom gave their champagne toast a tropical rain
shower came to offer its blessing. It really helped
to cool things down since the wedding and reception
were outside. It rained off-and-on during the
reception and all the guests were comfortable
under the 40' x 40' tent. The Hawaiians believe
that rain on your wedding day is a sign of fertility
because of water's life giving ability on the
island. Well if this is true, Lisa and Christopher
are going to be blessed with many children!
